Alexander Grimm came first in the single kayak slalom and
Ole Bischof of Germany took gold in the men's 81kg judo
competition. German hopes for a medal were dashed in gymnastics
though with the men's team only managing fourth place after star
gymnast Sebastian Hambüchen unexpectedly lost his grip on the
horizontal bar.
