Alexander Grimm came first in the single kayak slalom and
Ole Bischof took gold in the men's 81kg judo competition. Germany
also won gold in equestrian team eventing jumping. German hopes for
a medal were dashed in gymnastics though with the men's team only
managing fourth place after star gymnast Sebastian Hambüchen
unexpectedly lost his grip on the horizontal bar.
