The alleged leader of a coup attempt in Guinea-Bissau last week has been arrested in the Gambia, reports say.
Rear Admiral Americo Bubo Na Tchuto had escaped from custody in Guinea-Bissau, but was detained shortly after entering the Gambia, AFP news agency reported.
Mr Na Tchuto was held after allegedly asking senior officers for help in ousting President Joao Bernardo Vieira.
His arrest comes amid political turmoil in Guinea-Bissau, where the president has dissolved parliament.
