was victorious in women's epee.
This gives Germany a total of six
gold medals in the Bejing Olmpics. Wednesday also saw United States
swimmer Michael Phelps become the most successful Olympic athlete
in history. He won two races, taking his career total to an
unequalled 11 Olympic gold medals. Phelps has won five gold medals
at the Beijing Games so far with latest victories in world record
times in the 200 metre butterfly and 4x200 metre freestyle team
relay events.
