13.08.2008 - Two Czech journalists robbed in Georgia

He said the editorial office was initially unable to establish any contact with Marek Hudema and Tomas Tesar but later the two journalists informed their colleagues in Prague that they were in order.
They said they were at present in Gori, eastern Georgia, under the protection of a Russian commander.
"They are trying to reach Tbilisi," Bartosek said.
The two journalists have lost their car and equipment.
"According to information from Jakub Szanto from the public Czech Television (CTK), they were attacked by a unit of a pro-Moscow (Ossetian) soldiers," Katerina Kucharova, spokeswoman for the Ringier CR company publishing Reflex, said.
Reflex is asking people who can provide any help to the two journalists to contact the editorial office on phone 420 606 661 or on e-mail pavel.safr@reflex.cz.
Russia attacked Georgia last weekend after the Georgian military occupied Georgia's pro-Russian province South Ossetia.

Earlier this week the two states agreed on a ceasefire.
The estimated numbers of victims differ depending on source. According to Georgia, up to several hundreds of people died as a result of the conflict.
About 100,000 people left their homes, the office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said earlier.
