at least 36 militants during three days of battles in the country's
south.
In a statement, the US military said no coalition forces had
been killed in the fighting, which was still continuing on
Saturday. The fighting reportedly started when insurgents attacked
coalition patrols as they travelled through the Zamto Valley in
Kandahar province on Wednesday.
