Romania's Constantina Tomescu has won the women's Olympic marathon
in a time of 2 hours 26 minutes and 44 seconds.
On Saturday,
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt broke the men's 100-metre world
record, to clinch Olympic Gold in 9.69 seconds. His own former
world record was 9.72 seconds. Meanwhile, Greece's Olympic women's
400 metres hurdles champion, Fani Halkia, has failed a drugs test
according to Olympic officials, and will not be allowed to defend
her title.
