The chief prosecutor for the international war crimes tribunal in
The Hague says his office is analysing evidence of alleged crimes
in Georgia.
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch say
reported attacks on civilians include the 14-hour bombardment of
the South Ossetian capital, Tskhinvali, and Russian military
attacks on the Georgian city of Gori. Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo
met with representatives of both Russia and Georgia, and said he
was examining evidence.
