Germany has won another medal at the summer Olympic Games in
Beijing.
Thomas Lurz took the bronze medal in the men's
10-kilometre open water swim. Maarten van der Weijden of the
Netherlands won the gold medal, followed by Britain's David Davies
who took the silver. Meanwhile German rider Christian Ahlmann has
been suspended after his horse failed a doping test. At the
Athens Games four years ago, Germany was forced to hand back its
team gold after failing to register medication given to one
of the horses.
