More than 60 people have been killed and dozens of others injured
in an attack on Pakistan's main defence industry complex.
Two
suicide bombers detonated their explosives as employees were
leaving the munitions plant, located 30 kilometres north-west of
the capital, Islamabad. A spokesman for Taliban militants operating
in Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it
was in retaliation for air strikes on their positions near the
country's border with Afghanistan. He threatened more bombings
unless Pakistani army operations in the area were called off.
