Lena Schoeneborn won the women's
modern pentathlon, beating competitors from Britain and Ukraine.
Germany earlier won four medals, two of them gold, in the kayaking
competitions. Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee has
ordered an investigation into allegations that Chinese authorities
falsified the age of a double gold medal gymnast who was too young
to compete.
